Our attempt at a family shot before dinner!

Well the ocean was 64 degrees (colder than anywhere on the East Coast besides Maine). Daniel was very upset that Michael did not want to spend the day in the ocean. So we all headed to the pool this morning.

REDO - A Much Better Day at the Beach!

Today was a bit calmer at the beach! Daniel got plenty of time in the ocean (OK - he wanted to stay in the ocean the entire day). The waves were rough so we had to hold his hand in the ocean.

Rebecca discovered sand for the first time and decided to eat it (yummy)! The ocean sounds are just so relaxing and even better when your hubby delivers you a beach drink.

Michael built a sand airport for Daniel which was excellent, but got demolished when he left to make sandwiches for lunch. Rebecca loved playing in the sand with all her toys. The best part was when she fell asleep on me at the beach!

We all had a delicious dinner at Red Sky Tavern and then homemade ice cream for everyone (including Rebecca who had ice cream for the first time). It was a lovely day even if Daniel is bouncing off the walls from his steroids.

Birthday Girl all ready for the trip to North Carolina

Yesterday, we actually managed to leave the house with both kids by 7:20am!! And they did great on the drive to Duck. I was pleasantly surprised that Daniel did not ask "Are we there yet" until 8:20am :) Rebecca and Daniel managed to entertain each other and we did not even bring out the DVD. We arrived around 1pm at the Sanderling Resort. Unfortunately, our room was not ready which was the end of the world to Daniel. Our poor little guy just wanted to get out on the beach and into the ocean RIGHT AWAY. No explaining to him why we had to wait for our room to be ready. So we headed out for ice cream as a diversion! Rebecca in her Birthday Girl Tshirt and Daniel in his Superman Tshirt. When we got back our room was ready and we unpacked to get out the swimsuits so Daniel could get on the beach.

Then Daniel lips started swelling up and he threw up 3 times. Michael was down at the front desk and I called him saying Daniel is having an allergic reaction. Michael had to shoot Daniel with the Epi-pen which was so sad for Daniel. Then we rushed him to urgent care. Daniel was hysterical and I was trying to keep him awake in the back seat. When we arrived they gave him benedryl and he finally calmed down. I was so worried about him. We think he might have picked up an M&M with peanut off the ground and ate it before I could stop him. Michael had to run to CVS before it closed (twice) to get Daniel's prescription for Prednisone - which means Daniel is going to be on steroids for 5 days at the beach (meanwhile Rebecca was in her bathing suite the whole time). Daniel and Michael went out to the beach for a walk and then Daniel went to sleep with me so I could keep an eye on him. Poor little guy!

We are holding the cupcakes for Rebecca's birthday for Monday night to celebrate. Hopefully the rest of the vacation is CALM.

First Haircut and Rebecca says "Cracker"

Rebecca had her first haircut on July 5th at Cartoon Cuts! She did great and all the ladies loved her b/c she is such a sweetheart. She had a trim on top and we saved her hair of course :)

Today Rebecca was watching Daddy cut some cheese and repeated cracker perfectly! So her first word was "hi", second was "da-da", third was "ma-ma" and fourth is cracker!

I cannot believe that Rebecca turns one in a week. She is just growing up so fast! Our little angel is turning into a toddler.

Happy July 4th!

So Daniel and I headed to the pool without Rebecca and Daddy. It is way too hot for Rebecca. Daniel is a fish and loves the water. He stays in until he is shivering and then I have to force him out. He especially likes going down the slide.

Rebecca had her first toddler meal today - pinwheel pasta, chicken and peas. She loved it and pretty much looked at me like, "Why have you been holding out on me?". This was Daniel's favorite meal and he asked Rebecca to share a few pieces. (no picture since we just discovered the camera is broken - fell out of diaper bag onto the floor when Rebecca grabbed the diaper bag)

Cousins Cookout and Rebecca says "Ma-ma" for the first time

We had a wonderful cookout with Cousin Tammy/Mike, Will and Jason (yes - 5 boys and Rebecca) at Nana and Grandpa's place on Saturday, July 2. The kids all had a blast with each other.

Rebecca said "Ma-ma" for the first time today! How precious - love my little angel bear. (now she is working on saying, "Daniel")
